Hidden at the back of a small goblin lair is a two-way inter-dimensional space/time portal to Harry Gobblen’s Used Cars (where "Our Pri¢e is Right!™") in Cleveland, Ohio, circa 1976. The goblins do maintenance on AMC Gremlins for cases of Pabst Blue Ribbon and cartons of BelAir menthol cigarettes. And sometimes they joust with the cars entrusted to their repair. Come explore the dealership & meet fellow time-travelers waiting for their rides back to the days of the future past.

This project was originally released on my blog back in 2014-2015.

In a post over in an RPG forum regarding what might be in a goblin’s lair, I proposed the following:

A two-way inter-dimensional space/time portal to a used car lot in Cleveland, Ohio, circa 1976; the goblins do maintenance on AMC Gremlins for cases of Pabst Blue Ribbon and cartons of BelAir menthol cigarettes.

That seed grew into this crazy thing. It's gonzo. It mashes up various old school-style rule sets with abandon. It's filled with bad jokes & dated pop culture references. It's probably impossible to run if you're not me. It was even playtested at a well known Midwestern local game convention (no, not that one) that told me not to mention them by name if I ever wanted to attend again.

This thing requires Game Refs to do some pre-game prep in placing NPCs, encounters, and treasure in rooms (along the lines of the old TSR B1: In Search of the Unknown). Be sure to read the whole darn thing at least once before attempting to use it. And then maybe you'll decide it's not worth it . . .

(Note: because this was originally created 10 years ago, outbound links in the PDF to resources online may no longer work.)
